Author Walks Out of Edinburgh Book Festival Over Sponsor's Fossil Fuel Links

In a dramatic move, author and climate advocate Mikaela Loach stormed out of her panel discussion at the Edinburgh International Book Festival last Saturday.

In a dramatic move, author and climate advocate Mikaela Loach stormed out of her panel discussion at the Edinburgh International Book Festival last Saturday. The walkout was in protest against the festival's main sponsor, Baillie Gifford, whom Loach accused of investing in companies contributing to climate change. She stated that she could not, in good conscience, partake in an event sponsored by such a firm.
